The insurance industry attacks Louisiana working families and Louisiana homeowners….

The Baton Rouge Morning Advocate reports, “A House committee Wednesday night approved insurance industry changes that some members said “gutted” Senate-passed legislation that would forbid insurance companies from denying a homeowner’s claim solely because evidence of flooding.” The Louisiana insurance industry has used questionable, obscure and conflicting insurance policy provisions to deny legitimate claims.

The Monroe News-Star reports, homeowners throughout Louisiana will likely see up to a 15 percent assessment this year and 5 percent over the next eight years. This will help bailout insurance companies who took the risk, made money, but lost on hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
